St. Michele

This was the church around 20 years ago.

This picture has been taken from an old card.

Made during the XIII century a.c., when the Aragona (from Spain) dominated Sardinia.

It is the oldest church of Esterzili. It has some structure elements that make it particular, like the rose window and the gothic arc in the front. Another important element is the bell tower and the battlements next to it.

It follows the gothic style also inside, with a nave and several gothic arcs.

The 29 of september the prist celebrates the holy ceremony in honour of Esterzili's patron Saint.

Around the 1930 the people were buried outside of the church.
